-
What is event metrics and what data does it provide?
You can't manage what you can't measure.
Event-Metrics is an innovative, cost-effective solution for analysing visitor behaviour at trade fairs and events. It precisely measures visitor numbers, dwell time, return rates, movement patterns, interactions and visitor engagement - all completely anonymised and in compliance with data protection regulations. The collected data is processed in real time and can be clearly visualised in the form of heat maps or tabular analyses. This gives companies valuable insights into the performance of their trade fair stand and enables them to optimise their live communication strategy based on data. -
What functions does Event-Metrics Pro offer and how does Event-Metrics differ from other systems?
Event-Metrics Pro offers comprehensive visitor movement analysis, zone analysis and real-time engagement tracking. It allows you to monitor different areas of your stand, perform A/B testing and accurately measure visitor engagement to optimise your event strategy based on sound data. Compared to other tracking systems, Event-Metrics does not rely on video surveillance, Bluetooth or facial recognition, but uses anonymised Wi-Fi and beacon signals. This data protection-compliant method ensures rapid operational readiness and is particularly suitable for events such as trade fairs, festivals and pop-up installations.
-
For which events is Event-Metrics Pro suitable?
Event-Metrics Pro is suitable for trade fairs, congresses, pop-up events, showrooms and festivals. The sensors are mobile and can be used flexibly - both indoors and outdoors. Depending on the weather conditions, we offer weatherproof versions that can be operated independently of the existing infrastructure.
-
Is Event Metrics GDPR-compliant?
Yes, Event-Metrics is fully GDPR-compliant. No personal data is collected. Instead, data collection is based exclusively on anonymised signals that cannot be traced back to individuals. An official GDPR certificate is available.
-
How many sensors do I need?
A single sensor is sufficient for basic visitor counts. For deeper insights - for example to analyse individual zones or paths - we recommend several sensors, tailored to the stand size and structure.
-
How and where are the sensors placed?
Positioning is carried out in close consultation with you based on your stand plan. Open areas without metal interference are ideal. A constant power supply is important for precise and reliable data acquisition.
-
How does the sensor detect the location?
The sensor does not measure the exact location, but recognises distances based on received signals. By combining several sensors (triangulation), the movement can be tracked anonymously.
-
What happens without a mobile phone connection?
If there is no mobile phone connection, the sensor saves the recorded data locally. After the event, this data can be easily read out and imported.
-
Who carries out the installation of the sensor?
The installation of the sensors can be organised flexibly: you can connect the sensors yourself with the help of our installation manual - all you need is a power source. Alternatively, we offer you the option of booking an experienced technician through us, who will professionally install the sensors directly at your stand and test their functionality on site.
-
Does the system also register stand personnel?
No. Activities outside the official visitor times or by known devices (e.g. stand personnel) are systematically filtered out in order to record only real visitors.
-
Are there alternatives to mobile telephony for data transmission?
Yes, in addition to mobile communications, data can be transmitted via LAN or saved offline and imported later. This offers maximum flexibility for integration.
-
Is outdoor use possible?
Yes, we offer weatherproof sensors for outdoor use. These are ideal for festivals, open-air trade fairs or other outdoor events.
-
When should I order the sensors?
At least 14 days before the event to allow sufficient time for planning, dispatch and installation. Express solutions are available on request for short-term assignments.
-
How does the installation work?
Installation is simple and only requires a power supply. Instructions are included, alternatively we offer support from trained technicians on site.
-
Can sensors be purchased?
No. The sensors are offered exclusively for hire, including logistics and return shipping services after the event.
-
How secure is the data?
All data is stored in encrypted form and is subject to strict security protocols. Data is processed offline and in compliance with the GDPR.
-
How quickly can I access the data and see visitor flows in real time?
With Event-Metrics, you have the opportunity to analyse both the collected data and the visitor flows almost in real time. The data is processed immediately after collection and displayed on the Event-Metrics platform within just 5 minutes. You can directly view visitor flows, dwell times and interactions and quickly make data-based decisions. This real-time data enables immediate optimisation of the event strategy to improve the visitor experience and optimise visitor guidance.
-
How exactly is data recorded?
Event-Metrics Pro records anonymised signal strengths and time stamps from mobile devices (e.g. via WLAN or beacon signals). The data is stored locally in encrypted form and analysed using triangulation and zone-based analysis. This provides precise, GDPR-compliant insights into visitor frequency, dwell time, movement patterns and engagement - without capturing content or personal information.
-
How should I position the sensor?
- Ideally, the sensor should be permanently supplied with power. If the power is switched off at night, you can use our Node Checker in the portal to check whether the sensor is back online and sending data the next morning. After switching on the power, you should wait about 10 minutes to ensure that the sensor is working.
- Make sure that the sensor is not completely surrounded by metal, as this acts as a shield and can interfere with data collection. In addition, the higher the sensor is placed, the smaller the radius on the ground.
- A sensor installed at a height of 6 metres only reaches 50% of the radius on the ground.
- However, it is not necessary to cover every corner of the stand, as visitors usually move around the stand.
-
What happens to the sensors after the event?
After the event, you can simply return the sensors to our logistics centre. Our address is:
